Like for every sport, competitiveness of solo skippers increases as years go by. Mini 6.50 Class is a very good example of this evolution:
more skippers, more professionals, more high technologies, more money, more selection, a fantastic internationalization. The Transat 6.50 isn’t anymore a simple adventure for ocean dreamers with small budget. It became too a very high-level competition class.
Training is now required:

  • to master these extreme boats witch are Mini 6.50,
  • to minimize give up risks because of technical or human problems,
  • to keep on cadence of the race, to win or simply to sail as well as you can,
  • to demonstrate your commitment and how serious is your project to your partnerships,
  •

Since 2005, results of 6.50 mini races give a sure sign that the best investment for a project is:
